Lakefront Activities

Beach
The Osthoff Resort offers the finest lakeshore setting in southeastern Wisconsin with 500 ft. of sand beach on beautiful Elkhart Lake. Formed by retreating glaciers, Elkhart Lake has a natural sand bottom that keeps our water clear year-round. Our lakefront features picnic areas complete with watersports, grills, bonfire area, a playground, volleyball courts and a concession stand.

Wristbands are given to resort guests to enjoy The Osthoff Resort’s private lakefront/swimming area. A limited number of unreserved beach lounge chairs are available on the lakefront. The Lake Deck and Recreation Rentals are open to resort guests and the general public.

On Sundays, June 14 - September 20, only electric and manpowered watercraft are permitted on Elkhart Lake.
All rentals must be returned 5 min prior to end of scheduled rental time.

September Hours of Opperation
Open September 1-7, 11-13, 17-20 & 24-26, 8am - 6pm.

Watercraft Rental Requirments
A person born on or after January 1, 1989, and at least 21 years old may operate a motor boat only if he or she has completed a boating safety course that is accepted by the Wisconsin D.N.R.
Temporary Boating Licenses can be obtained online at www.boat-ed.com/wisconsinrental.
Full Boating Licenses can also be obtained online at www.boat-ed.com/wisconsin.
Operators must be 21 or older to operate a motor boat or pontoon.

Cruises
If you'd like to enjoy a panoramic tour of Elkhart Lake by water, The Osthoff Resort offers two cruises per day, seasonally.

Coffee Cruise
Scenic overview of local geology and history.
$16 per person, per occupied seat.
9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Reservations by 5:00 pm the prior day.
Coffee and juice offered.

Evening Cruise
$15 per person, per occupied seat.
Overview of local geology and history.
6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
7:00 - 8:00 p.m., additional cruise in July & August.
Reservations by 4:00 pm the same day.

Bonfires
Join us for a complimentary beachfront bonfire complete with s’mores every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening, Memorial Day through Labor Day.
